I've never really looked into Pantera's stuff until recently while on YouTube. I've been into metal since the 90s, and some may find it odd that I've never really noticed Dime's awesome riffs. Well, when I finally checked him out on youtube, I said, "Holy #$#!!". I got so inspired, that I bought myself a nice ESP and dumped my old Ibanez. This book brought me up to speed on Dime's technique. LOTS of riffs on here, but it doesn't have fully tabbed songs. The book is pretty much for someone who wants to either imitate his style, or someone who wants to finally figure out those guitar tricks he liked to use. This book talks A LOT about Dime's playing style/technique. This book is FILLED with personal answers from Dime himself. Can't figure out that weird chord on a riff? It's in here! I grew bored of playing power chords in standard/drop D tuning, and thanks to this book, I know use a combination of weird chords and power chords (sounds freakin awesome!). This book is a must for Dimebag-influenced musicians!

My band is big Pantera fanatics and to play his stuff you've got be able to play fast and furious. This book allows you to get your feet wet and has a good break down on him and his style. It's not gonna give you complete tablature to any of his songs, it's gonna give you a break down on a few of his hit riffs/solos and that's about it. Good book, but if you're looking for a whole song this ain't it. R.I.P. Dime. Get it and rip into it, practice it and then jam Pantera! The CD has quite a few examples on it, too. Nice.

This book is probably my favorite tab book out of the 68 that I own... It shows you EVERY technique Dime used. First it starts off with how hw got into guitar and his history with Pantera then it goes into teaching you all his signature techniques such as his use of power chords, solo runs (like the extremely fast run from Mouth for war), and tons more interesting techniques like his use of harmonics and whammy bar (ever listen to the very end of Cemetary Gates? I know you have.) Its also awesome because it doesnt matter if you are a beginner or expert.. everyone can learn somethin from this book. And to top it off its got a CD included with it although it might sound a little different because the guy playin isn't in "Dimebag" tuning. (if you dont know wat that is then buy the book) Anyways check it out. If you love Dime or Pantera this book WILL NOT dissapoint and if it does then that must mean your not reading it enough or that you are a closed minded guitarist because I can sum this book up in two words : KICK A**!!
