Good DVD if you've never held a guitar.

It’s very basic, short, and limited. There is no extraneous information to confuse you, however, don’t expect to be playing like Eric Clapton after watching it. You’ll also need a good beginner instructional book to accompany this DVD. It was useful to learn how to change strings (low-priced / beginner guitars often come with crappy strings that should be changed ASAP to increase playability). The DVD is great and reassuring if you don’t have a friend who plays to watch play basic techniques. Much of the info on this DVD can be found free on the web. Buy this DVD if you don’t have these other resources.

This is a very informative DVD, for beginners in acoustic, and in lesson 1 it talks about both electric and acoustic, lesson 2 is just for acoustic, the fundamentals of hammer-on and pull-offs, finger picking, more chords to add to the chords you learned in lesson 1.
