I bought this when I first got a bass and wanted to learn. But I never got around to finding lessons. So I buy this and figure "What could it hurt?". It teaches you major and minor triads. They're not even taught that well. It tells you them. It touches scales a little bit. But otherwise it just gives you notes and you play. It didn't go into any depth on these. It's good at what it does. It may help if you're just beginning, but I find it doesn't teach very well. But get lessons. It won't substitute real lessons. It does ok at what it does.

When I first got it, I thought I wouldn't get too much out of it, seeing as I'm not a beginner, but there have been a few small things that have been very helpful. Even though there are a lot of basic things that can bore you if you're an advanced player, I think that a lot of this will be helpful, especially if you've learned not through lessons but just through experience as I have. Overall, I'd recommend it to all bass players.
