quicktime conflict time

If you have iTunes then this software will conflict with it as iTunes uses newer quicktime application and eMedia won't use a newer version. You have to uninstall any newer version of quicktime to use the guitar program and of course iTunes won't work without using the newest version of quicktime. So, if you use iTunes and want to use this software to learn guitar you'll have to be willing to stop using iTunes.

Have a lot of other books and software and this is by far the best one. Lessons clear, pacing excellent, each lessons builds on earlier ones and you can play it over and over until you get it right. Actually thought I knew how to play and bought the eMedia Intermediate and Blues first but bought this one as liked the others. This definitely strenghten my understanding and basic skills and unless you've had some expensive lessons you'll be surprised what you don't know. Suggest you buy this and the rest of suite. You won't be dissappointed and you will stop wasting your money on lot of other junk that's out there.

Airborne Death From Above

This is a great learning tool, better than books or videos. Completly interactive!!! It has tons of lessons and examples you can use to practice according to your skill level. If you think a lesson is to tough for you then go back a few lessons and try them again. You can slow down or speed up all songs using the included midi files with a visual fretboard in case you forget a particular chord. In addittion to the visual fretboard the program includes a chord dictionary where you can find more than 250 chords!

Lessons are progressive, meaning that new lessons are built based on previous excersices plus adding new information as you go through the course. You'll find mini chord test in the program to test your new acquired knowledge.

Another usefull feature is that you can highlight a whole song or just part of the song you are having problem with, and have the program repeat that part over an over again untill you feel confortable with the song.

The program makes referece to OLGA (On-Line Guitar Archive) where you can find 100's of songs for your skill level. If you find the songs to be boring you can always look for the ones you like at OLGA.

Conclusion: This software is the best interactive learning tool I have found. I have a couple of books and videos and none can be compared to eMedia Guitar Method. I recommend this software 100%

... and remember to .... practice ... practice ... and practice ... because practice is the mother of all skills!!!

I bought the eMedia Guitar Method Volume 1 half-expecting it to be another failed attempt to wrap my fingers around the neck of a guitar. It has, however, in a few short months, taught me many basic chords and strumming techniques. I can actually make music on the guitar. I've played sax and harmonica for years, but could never manage the guitar. Now I can, with what I've learned from this program. The end-of-lesson suggestions for songs on OLGA.net is brilliant. Go ahead and buy, with a little dedication and practice, you'll learn!
